Elysion regresa a la escena musical casi una década después de la publicación de su último álbum de estudio: Made of Lies. Este quinteto griego ha presentado su más reciente trabajo Bring Out Your Dead inspirados por la pandemia y los cambios sociales que ella generó. Un álbum que destaca por su dinamismo, así como la experimentación de sonidos alternativos y pesados, es considerado el trabajo más maduro de la banda. Aquí te presentamos nuestra reseña.
Blink of an Eye tiene un inicio bastante explosivo gracias al sonido de las guitarras que da paso a potente voz de Christiana Hatzimihali, cuyo rango vocal se ha mantenido intacto e incluso mejor a través de los años. Una canción que rescata esta esencia del rock gótico con algunos elementos alternativos.
Crossing Over es uno de los sencillos promocionales de este álbum. Musicalmente, despierta este sentimiento de nostalgia al recordarnos a sus primeros trabajos que fusiona el rock gótico y melódico. Una canción que en definitiva funciona bien como single gracias a sus coros pegadizos y potentes.
Far Away continúa con esta ambientación melódica en la que hacen empleo de los sintetizadores que se combinan con el sonido de las guitarras eléctricas. Un aspecto que me encanta de esta canción en particular es como la interpretación vocal femenina empieza de forma suave y delicada alcanzando su punto más álgido en el coro.
Buried Alive denota desde sus primeras notas esta sensación de nostalgia a través de los acordes de la guitarra acompañados por la interpretación vocal. Esta canción en particular rescata la esencia del rock gótico que estuvo en apogeo en la década de los 00's. Es interesante como la banda sigue fiel a su estilo a través de los años.
As The Flowers Withers muestra un sonido que se caracteriza por su simpleza y dinamismo. A comparación de sus antecesoras, que muestran mayor cantidad de elementos musicales, en esta canción se puede apreciar con claridad la ejecución de cada uno de los instrumentos musicales en conjunto con las voces femeninas que destacan por su naturalidad.
En Raid The Universe, podemos apreciar como la banda trata de despegarse un poco de su propuesta musical centrada en el rock gótico jugando con elementos progresivos y alternativos. En lo que respecta a la interpretación vocal, podemos observar como Christiana Hatzimihali juega con su voz lírica y encamina su interpretación hacia rangos vocales más agudos que permiten apreciar su versatilidad. En This Time se continúa bajo esta misma línea en la que se destaca el uso de los sintetizadores y jugando con un sonido más pesado.
Brand New Me es una balada rock que cuenta con algunos elementos sinfónicos y que se caracteriza por la presencia de partes explosivas que le aportan más fuerza a la canción. Esta canción es quizás una de las que puede apreciarse la capacidad creativa de este quinteto griego.
Blue Seasons es una canción es la que puede apreciarse el talento vocal de Christiana Hatzimihali pues transita de rangos graves a agudos de forma natural y no forzada, lo cual le brinda mayor cuerpo la canción.
Este álbum finaliza con Eternity que retoma este rock melódico con algunas notas progresivas en la que permiten que cada uno de los instrumentos musicales brille con luz propia incluida la parte vocal, destacando a esta última por la presencia de elementos corales que le aportan profundidad y fuerza a su propuesta musical.
Bring Out Your Dead es un álbum que marca el regreso de Elysion por la puerta grande. Un álbum que destaca por la solidez de su propuesta musical con este aire fresco y moderno cumpliendo con el propósito de entretener gracias a su versatilidad sonora: melodías pegajosas, bien estructuradas y una grabación impecable. Si eres fan del female fronted metal, este álbum merece que sea escuchado.

This Greek quintet has presented her most recent work, Bring Out Your Dead, inspired by the pandemic and the social changes it generated. An album that stands out for its dynamism, as well as its experimentation with alternative and heavy sounds, it is considered the band's most mature work. Here we present our review.
Blink of an Eye has a rather explosive start thanks to the sound of the guitars that gives way to the powerful voice of Christiana Hatzimihali, whose vocal range has remained intact and even better through the years. A song that rescues this essence of gothic rock with some alternative elements.
Crossing Over is one of the promotional singles from this album. Musically, it arouses this feeling of nostalgia by reminding us of his early works that fuse gothic and melodic rock. A song that works well as a single thanks to its catchy and powerful choruses.
Far Away continues with this melodic setting in which they make use of synthesizers that are combined with the sound of electric guitars. One aspect that I love about this song is how the female vocal performance starts out soft and delicate, reaching its peak in the chorus.
