#AfterForever fue un grupo de metal sinfónico que vió la luz en el año de 1995 y quedó oficialmente disuelta en 2009.
Esta agrupación se perfilaba para ser una de las máximas exponentes del género, pero, desgraciadamente, los problemas internos los llevaron, no sólo a disolverse, también a dividirse con historias realmente dramáticas.
Todo inició con un proyecto entre #MarkJansen (EPICA) y #SanderGommans quienes fundaron la banda Apocalypse, que posteriormente pasaría a llamarse After Forever.
La soprano, #FloorJansen, se agregaría a la banda en 1997, siendo vocalista de fondo y luego la voz principal.
Mark Jansen, por su parte, era el vocalista gutural, guitarrista que junto a Floor y Sander componía los temas del grupo.
El primer álbum de estudio salió en el año 2000, titulado #PrisionOfDesire, lo que rápidamente les abrió las puertas y los posicionó como una de las mejores bandas de #Gothic metal del momento.
En este trabajo, podemos apreciar grandes temas como “Mea Culpa”, “Semblance of Confusion”, “Follow in the Cry” entre otros, además de la participación de #SharonDenAdel de #WithinTemptation en la canción “Beyond Me”.
Al año siguiente llegó Decipher, resultando en un material icónico para el movimiento metal gótico, desgraciadamente es el último con Mark Jansen, pues fue despedido por tener “diferencias creativas”.
Se dice que la relación amorosa que mantenía Floor con Sander se hizo tan intensa que comenzaron a hacer todo juntos, incluso componer, por lo cual dejaron a Mark fuera, lo que hizo que se sintiera frustrado creativamente, pero al salir formó su propio proyecto, la banda #SaharaDust, que luego pasaría a ser #EPICA.
La expulsión de Mark por parte de Jansen y Gommans se dio poco antes de que After Forever estuviera a punto de dar una de sus presentaciones más importantes: ser teloneros de #Nightwish.
Durante siete años, Floor y Sander mantuvieron una relación amorosa que culmina casi al mismo tiempo que la banda.
En esta parte de la historia aparece #AmandaSomerville, vocal coach de #SimoneSimons, #AevaMaurelle y Floor Jansen, también participó en el coro de #Epica y ayudó con la producción de algunos discos de After Forever.
La historia de lo que pasó realmente es un secreto a voces, pero la mayoría de las versiones concuerdan en que la relación de Amanda con Sander inició al mismo tiempo que este era pareja de Floor.
El tiempo curó viejas heridas por lo que Gommas y Mark volvieron a ser amigos y estaban trabajando en un proyecto juntos (MaYan), pero al mismo tiempo, Floor y Mark también retomaron su amistad.
El final de After Forever viene cuando Sander tiene que entrar en periodo de descanso por salud, debido a que estuvo a punto de sufrir un ataque por la presión que ejercían las extensas giras que realizaban.
A pesar de que se dijo que sólo sería un breve periodo de tiempo, la banda se disolvió oficialmente 2009 con una carta en su página web oficial.
No sabemos si esta disolución fue a raíz de los problemas personales entre Jansen y Gommans o por los diferentes proyectos que iniciaban todos los miembros del grupo; lo que sí, es que Mark y Simone Simons cortaron relaciones con Amanda y Sander cuando ellos oficializaron su relación.
Incluso Sander quedó fuera de #MaYan, agrupación que hoy en día tiene como vocalista principal a #LauraMacri, actual novia de Mark.
También se dice que fue la misma Simone Simons la encargada de reconciliar a los Jansen, ya que ambas son muy amigas.
Pero la historia no termina aquí, luego de la disolución de AF, Floor creó su propia banda llamada Re Vamp, la cual duró muy poco, pues fue elegida como reemplazo de #AnetteOlzon en Nightwish, primero como miembro temporal para la gira y después como vocalista oficial.
Por su parte, Amanda y Sander se casaron y crearon juntos varios proyectos, pero no sólo eso, también son los que tienen los derechos de las canciones que AF, caso curioso, pues muchas de estas canciones pertenecen también a Floor Jansen aunque se dice que no recibe ninguna regalía por ellas.

#AfterForever was a symphonic metal group that came into the light in 1995 and was officially dissolved in 2009.
This group was shaping up to be one of the greatest exponents of the genre, but, unfortunately, internal problems led them, not only to dissolve, but also to divide with truly dramatic stories.
It all started with a project between #MarkJansen (EPICA) and #SanderGommans who founded the band Apocalypse, which would later be called After Forever.
The soprano, #FloorJansen, would be added to the band in 1997, being background vocalist and later the lead vocal.
Mark Jansen, meanwhile, was the gutural vocalist and guitarist who together with Floor and Sander composed the songs for the group.
The first studio album came out in 2000, titled #PrisionOfDesire, which quickly opened their doors for them and positioned them as one of the best #Gothic metal bands of the moment.
In this work, we can appreciate great songs like "Mea Culpa", "Semblance of Confusion", "Follow in the Cry" among others, in addition to the participation of #SharonDenAdel of #WithinTemptation in the song "Beyond Me".
The following year Decipher arrived, resulting in an iconic material for the Gothic metal movement, unfortunately it is the last with Mark Jansen, as he was fired for having "creative differences".
It is said that the love relationship that Floor had with Sander became so intense that they began to do everything together, including composing, which is why they left Mark out, which made him feel creatively frustrated, so when he left he formed his own project, the band #SaharaDust, which would later become #EPICA.
The expulsion of Mark by Jansen and Gommans took place shortly when After Forever was about to give one of their most important introductions: opening for #Nightwish.
For seven years, Floor and Sander maintained a love affair that culminates almost at the same time as the band.
In this part of the story #AmandaSomerville, vocal coach of #SimoneSimons, #AevaMaurelle and Floor Jansen, also participated in the #Epica chorus and helped with the production of some After Forever records.
The story of what really happened is an open secret, but most versions agree that Amanda's relationship with Sander began at the same time that he was a Floor´s boyfriend .
Time healed old wounds so Gommas and Mark became friends again and were working on a project together (Mayan), but at the same time, Floor and Mark also resumed their friendship.
The end of After Forever comes when Sander has to enter a period of rest for health, because he was about to suffer an attack due to the pressure exerted by the extensive tours they carried out.
Although it was said that it would only be a short time, the band officially disbanded 2009 with a letter on their official website.
We do not know if this dissolution was due to personal problems between Jansen and Gommans or due to the different projects that all the members of the group started; Mark and Simone Simons cut relationships with Amanda and Sander when they made their relationship official.
Even Sander was left out of #MaYan, a group that today has #LauraMacri, Mark's current girlfriend, as the main vocalist.
It is also said that Simone Simons was the one in charge of reconciling the Jansen, since both are very close friends.
But the story does not end here, after the dissolution of AF, Floor created his own band called Re Vamp, which lasted very little, as it was chosen as a replacement for #AnetteOlzon in Nightwish, first as a temporary member for the tour and later as official vocalist.
For their part, Amanda and Sander married and created several projects together, but not only that, they are also the ones who have the rights to the songs that AF, curious case, since many of these songs also belong to Floor Jansen although it is said that you do not receive any royalties for them.
